CHILDREN CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY

WITH A WEEK OF VICTORIANA

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the school, children and staff enjoyed a host of themed Victorian activities during the last week of November.

We all dressed up in Victorian costumes and behaved as though someone had turned the clock back to 1863 when the school first opened its doors on Dog Lane.

The teachers were very strict and sent you to the dunce’s corner if you made any noise; you had to behave. When we were naughty they threatened us with a cane. When we came into school the tables were set out in rows and only 2 people could sit at a table.

We enjoyed learning about Victorians, but were quite relieved when we were all allowed to talk again.
